PMS Post Modification Sail |
See!!! I told you it wasn't what you thought. |
Off and away the house with the blue roof is mine. I tried her on all point
and beating was up to about 3.3 mph in light winds. 4.8 was the fastest
on a reach and about 3 to 3.2 down wind. Slowests was 1.8 to 2mph pinching
hard. |
Got out for a couple of hours and here's the result. The sail is beautiful
and couldn't be much better. Tiller is good and I like it a lot. It's much better for a canoe than the steering rope round the cockpit. Foot straps need work but show promise. I actually liked the pedals better but maybe there's a compromise here. Backrest has to go. Need to come up with a good mod here. |
Winds were pretty light but she still went to windward close to 90 degrees.
Waves were only a foot or so but running she rocked a bit so I kept the board
down. You can see in a couple of the pictures the sail fills quite nicely . |
From garage to launch was about 15 min. Pick up about the same. One screw
came out of the lower rudder hinge mount but I was close in and it was no
problem under sail. Quick fix for this afternoon! |
